Spirit

In the series Spirit, I have photographed myself in various spiritual settings. Houses of worship are backdrops, visual theatrical stages of sorts. My figure is simultaneously vanishing and present as it moves through otherworldly surroundings. There is the sense that I am searching while moving between the opposing realms of dreaming and waking, conscious and unconscious, physical and metaphysical, real and imaginary. Spirit engages the viewer in the search for that,which has been lost, asking the question, "What does it mean to exist and belong?"
